About Myself

My name is Kouacou Konan, a scientist and faculty member at a college in New York State, USA. I have a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from Indiana University, Indiana. As a PhD student, I learned a great deal about the molecular biology of microbes, such as bacteria, viruses and parasites. I later specialized in Bacteriology and Virology while I was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, California. As a faculty member, I have had many opportunities to teach undergraduate and graduate students, as well as medical students, on topics related to the molecular biology and pathogenesis of microbes.
About the site
This site was created to share my years of experience with those who would like to learn more about the microbes that often cause devastating diseases in the human population. However, it is not meant for self-diagnosis. I encourage you to consult your physician if you believe that you are experiencing symptoms of a microbial disease.
